The covid 19 is a whirlwind which turned our lives upside down, demolished dreams of many, and created an everlasting devastation on the human kind. It has made us realize the helplessness in front of a minute virus. Covid cases on peak, a trail of social and economic damages, losing the lives of our dear ones has made a pause to our life.
People are now self isolating, businesses are closing,the global market is falling and many people are dying. One of the biggest challenges of this covid 19 pandemic is the lack of knowledge about the virus,we only have a bit of information which is very scary. Experts around the world have been regularly meeting to discuss and plan the scenarios based on previous outbreaks.
METHODS OF SPREADING COVID 19
Experts believe that communities have been late to take preventive measures. The virus can spread in direct contact with an open carrier but also less commonly through asymptomatic sheddings. As well as casual contact and even contact with the surface touched by an infected person can also be a reason.
Due to asymptomatic nature of the virus in younger and healthier people by the time there has been a death from the virus, many people might be contacted with the infected one. The CDC estimates that each infected person could pass it between three or more people.

INDIA’S PRESENT COVID 19 SCENARIO
India is now struggling to cope with the flood of covid 19 cases and deaths. A new record breaking amount of coronavirus cases are now being recorded. The falling shortage of oxygen cylinders,and lack of critical care beds is intensifying these catastrophic conditions of covid 19. People are in a very pathetic condition as India is in the grip of a fierce second wave.
At present the virulence,and infectivity ratio has gone up. Last year it took more than six weeks for the cases to be doubled during the first wave but surprisingly at present it has taken less than ten days for infections to grow twofold to the current high,which has already surpassed 2020’s peak.
Due to the lack of vaccines,the Maharashtra and Mumbai vaccine centres have closed,which worsens the condition. The increasing cases have not deterred the election campaigns and festival celebrations. We should understand that it’s just the start of an aggressive covid 19.
SECOND WAVE OF COVID 19
We are now witnessing a huge increase in covid cases. As the India is facing the second wave of CoronaVirus which is believed to be more deadlier than the previous one, country faced last year.Epidemiologists around the world had already anticipated that, second wave of pandemic would be stronger and widespread and people should not be lowering their guard against it.
REASONS BEHIND THE SPREAD OF COVID 19
Here are some reasons behind the exponential surge in infections:
The major reason of covid 19 is the lackadaisical approach of National and state governments and failure of the local administration in curbing the unnecessary movement of the people even in between the lockdowns and state imposed restrictions. There was a clear negligence to be pointed out during covid time. Even Though the masks were made mandatory, many people tried to walk in public places without masks which has led to this massive number of cases.
Secondly the Inadequate coverage of Vaccination Program has also contributed to the recent surge in cases as it exposes a big percentage of Indian population to deadly viruses. A clear lack of knowledge on vaccines makes many people resist taking vaccines.
The United States of America has recently announced to vaccinate all adult populations in order to save not only human lives but also the valuable human resources. Most importantly the political rallies, religious congregation and mass gatherings have contributed significantly in promoting this exponential surge in cases. This lack of surveillance and negligence even from the government is a great shame. The people who should be the model for society itself here become the carriers of wrong doings.
India has now turned to be a country who is struggling to breathe.This covid-19 situation is an extraordinary situation and it needs extraordinary efforts such as increasing the vaccination programs, imposing restrictions on mass gatherings and carrying out community awareness campaigns about the severity of the virus and so on.
